AZCEA Awards Selection Criteria

All award nominations must be submitted no later than February 28, 2018.

  • Program of the Year (Visa Gift Card award of $300):

    o   Excellence in overall program design and delivery

    o   Meets the needs of the community

    o   Participants could include anyone from infants to adults

    o   Must be a district-wide program as opposed to a single site

    o   A total of 1 recipient may be awarded each year

  • Program of the Year: Site specific (Visa Gift Card award of $300):

    o   Excellence in overall program design and delivery

    o   Meets the needs of the community

    o   Participants could include anyone from infants to adults

    o   Must be a site specific program as opposed to being district-wide

    o   A total of 1 recipient may be awarded each year

  • Program Leader of the Year (Visa Gift Card award of $150/each):

    o   Exemplify what it means to lead a team of individuals to successfully implement a high quality program

    o   Must work directly with the program line staff at the specific location they are assigned

    o   A total of 3 recipients may be awarded each year. One from each of the following:

    §  1-5 employees supervised

    §  6-10 employees supervised

    §  11+ employees supervised

  • Office Staff of the Year (Visa Gift Card award of $150/each):

    o   Consistently go above and beyond to help deliver outstanding customer service to all customers both internal and external

    o   May be responsible for specific projects and outcomes or provide general customer service

    o   Must be the initial point of contact in the office

    o   A total of 3 recipients may be awarded each year

  • Program Line Staff of the Year (Visa Gift Card award of $150/each):

    o   Consistently go above and beyond to help deliver outstanding programming

    o   May be responsible for specific projects and outcomes such as:

    §  on-site support for outside user groups who rent district space (i.e., custodian, ranger, etc.)

    §  supervision of students in preschool and out-of-school time programs

    o   Must work on the “front line” with program participants

    o   A total of 3 recipients may be awarded each year

  • Administrator/Regional Leader of the Year (Visa Gift Card award of $150/each):

    o   Proven track record of leading teams of staffs across multiple programs and/or locations

    o   Through their efforts, continuous quality improvement thrives as well as overall program and/or department effectiveness and efficiency

    o   Must be responsible for total program oversight across multiple types of programs and/or locations

    o   Could be considered district administrators or support staff, but they must have full supervisory responsibility for teams of individuals as well as complete budgetary oversight

    o   A total of 3 recipients may be awarded each year

  • Community Educator of the Year (Visa Gift Card award of $400):

    o   Repeatedly exhibited leadership in all aspects of their work which resulted in a high level of community impact for a significant amount of time

    o   Must have at least 15 years of service

    o   Is identified as a leader in the work/field

    o   Does not have to be in a defined leadership role (i.e., program leader, administrator, regional leader), but instead could support their department or program from any position

    o   Only 1 recipient will be awarded each year
